Namgis First Nation & Albion Farms and Fisheries – Kuterra land Based Salmon Farm

By | January 19, 2017

This is a short video about an amazing Land Based Contained Salmon Farm located  at Alert Bay, B.C., on Cormorant Island, adjacent to north Vancouver Island. The ‘Namgis First Nation is proving that environmental protection and salmon production can go hand-in-hand with their low-impact, land-based Atlantic salmon facility.

Their slogan “Protecting the environment, improving farming” certainly sums up the accomplishments and development strives that they have made. The name of the facility and product also speaks well of their goals ” KUTALA means salmon in the language of the ‘Namgis people. TERRA means land. And KUTERRA means salmon from the land”, that makes good sense doesn’t it!

Albion Farms and Fisheries is their partner in distributing KUTERRA salmon. Personal  from Albion report that these salmon are well received within the marketplace and are in more and more demand, often positioning above salmon from open water farms, in consumer preference.

Please take a couple of minutes and watch this informative video.
